Digitmovies continua a pubblicare su Cd le colonne sonore dai film con l'adorata coppia cinematografica Bud Spencer e Terence Hill. Per la prima volta su disco la colonna sonora completa tratta dal film "Piedone l'africano",un classico della commedia con Bud Specer nel ruolo del corpulento,ma dal cuore buono commissario Rizzo meglio noto come Piedone. Terza puntata della popolare serie in quattro film: "Piedone lo sbirro"(1973), "Piedone ad Honk Kong" (1975), "Piedone l'africano" (1978) e "Piedone d'Egitto" (1979). All_epoca della sua uscita nelle sale questa serie ebbe un grandissimo successo al botteghino e la popolarità di Piedone oggi ha raggiunto nuovi livelli grazie alle uscite in DVD sul mercato. Su CD tutta la colonna sonora dei fratelli De Angelis disponibile per la prima volta. Infatti se da "Piedone lo sbirro" era uscito un 33 giri, da "Piedone l'africano" solo un singolo aveva visto la luce del giorno nel 1978 su 45 giri MDF 118 della Cinevox Record con i brani "Freedom" e "Diamonds".Negli archivi Cinevox sono stati ritrovati i nastri originali, in ottime condizioni dopo un quarto di secolo. Nelle scatole delle bobine numerose annotazioni provano che un album era stato preparato per la pubblicazione, ma poi cancellato per oscure ragioni. Nel Cd si trova ogni nota registrata per il film, incluse le versioni film ed alcuni mix alternativi come bonus tracks.

Digitmovies continues to release on CD the film scores from the movies starring the beloved Cinema duo Bud Spencer and Terence Hill. This time we present the complete soundtrack from the classic Bud Spencer movie Piedone l'africano as the corpulent, but goodheart commissioner Rizzo better known as Piedone.Third installment in the popular series made of four motion pictures: Piedone lo sbirro (1973), Piedone ad Honk Kong (1975), Piedone l'africano (1978) and Piedone d' Egitto (1979). This series was highly succesfull at the box office in those times and the popularity of Piedone has reached new levels today thanks to the DVD releases on the market. This Cd features the complete score by the De Angelis Bros. available for the first time: infact, while an LP was issued from the first feature "Piedone lo sbirro", from Piedone l' africano only a single saw the light of the day back in 1978 on Cinevox label (single MDF 118) with the tracks "Freedom and Diamonds". Searching for the original stereo tapes we discovered them in the Cinevox archives: they were in good conditions after more than one quarter of century and on the papers we found in the boxes there were several annotations and many tracks were marked with LP, so we presume that an album was assembled for release purposes in that year, evidently later cancelled and only one single appeared. Guido & Maurizio De Angelis have written a nice score based on the adventurous choral theme called Freedom sung by I Charango that we listen on track 1 (the film version) and on track 23 (the single version) often reprised in the score. Being the movie placed in Africa drum percussions and jungle effects are dominant elements through it; the Piedone Theme (the actual main titles) appears here on track 2 with a disco arrangment, but the score features various source music like a rock-boogie (tr.8) and various disco numbers (tr.7 and 11). This disc also features as bonus tracks some alternate mix of the main themes.
