Signor Rossi was an Italian-made cartoon (1975-1978) from
Bruno Bozetto consisting of 3 series of 12 episodes each.
The cartoons told of the adventures of Signor Rossi and
his doggy pal Gastone and their quest for happiness in all
manner of places (and times) such as the Stone Age, the
Middle Ages and the future and encountering all kinds of
characters including Zorro, Tarzan, Robin Hood, Sherlock
Holmes Alladin and many more.
The music from Franco Godi (AKA "Mister Jingle"
- from his work on a variety of advertising music) perfectly
conveys the playfulness and light-hearted adventures and
uses a variety of styles and signatures to match Signor
Rossi's adventures.
There's also a few dialogue samples from the cartoon and
some German versions of the tracks that were recorded for
export to Germany.
When we heard the main theme we were instantly transported
back to our youth and remembered that we used to watch "Mr
Rossi" when we got back from school.
Those were the days.
Viva Happiness!
