| description & story |
GDM Music presents on CD the OST by Riz Ortolani
for the documentary movie Addio Zio Tom directed in 1971 by
Gualtiero Jacopetti and Franco Prosperi, famous for having
started in 1962 the Mondo movie genre with the movie Mondo
cane whose main theme More by Oliviero - Ortolani has become
an hit around the world.
Addio zio Tom is an historic documentary that penetrates
in the slave-driver America of the nineteenth century, photographed
by two authors in a subjective shot, interviewers projected
in the past and struggling with bizarre and embarrassing characters,
all involved in the traffic of African men and women, all
is proposed as a huge and shocking social satire.
The music score by Riz Ortolani suitably emphasizes the good
and the evil, the sacred and the profane described in the
motion picture alternating a main romantic love theme (also
performed by Katyna Ranieri) to Beat, classical and band music.
For this Italian CD premiere the stereo master tape of the
original album has been used and five inedit tracks have been
added properly restored and remastered in digital. |
