description
Fin de Siecle Media proudly present the CD premiere of Pino Donaggio's score for CORRUZIONE AL PALAZZO DI GIUSTIZIA, an intense tale of corruption made in 1974 starring Franco Nero and directed by Marcello Aliprandi.
Donaggio's score is in places a fairly low key work that relies on taught and suspense-filled cues which match the mood and atmosphere of the motion picture perfectly.
But there is also a melodic, poignant and delicate side to the score which manifests itself during the soundtrack in varying guises and instrumentations.
Donaggio has composed an admirable score that not only suits the motion picture for which it was written, but also manages to remain an entertaining work away from the images for which it was intended, a true work of originality and merit.
Originally released on vinyl by Carosello Records in 1975, it's an extremely rare album which finally will be available again, carefully restored from the LP master and presented in a 6-page digipak with original artwork, film stills and liner notes by John Mansell.

story

The shocking premise of this film, that many magistrates in the Italian system of justice are on the take from corporations, politician, and gangsters, was soon overshadowed by real-life revelations of corruption in high places.
One high point in this political melodrama is the humanity with which actor Fernando Rey endows the Chief Justice.

Cast:
Franco Nero, Fernando Rey, Umberto Orsini, Mara Danaud, Giovanna Benedetto, Umberto D'Orsi, Renato Montanari

Director:
Marcello Aliprandi
