description
Il tassinaro appears for the first time in CD format for the joy of all the Alberto Sordi & Piero Piccioni fans.
In those days General Music label issued a 33 rpm album containing on two sides 13 stereo tracks assembled by the author himself with a lenght of 39:23.
For this complete edition we could use the stereo master tapes of the original recording session (with Sergio Marcotulli as sound engineer) that took place at the Forum Studios in Rome, kept in the EMI General Music Archives and that gave us the chance to discover much inedit music that brings our Cd to a total length of 73:17.
Piero Piccioni has written Roma by taxi, a brilliant and rhythmic theme for orchestra and choir for the character of Pietro, the taxi driver and a sweet and melanchonic love theme called Autumn time in Rome performed by Jason Piccioni and reprised with several orchestral variations.
A OST that deserves to be rescued on CD as tribute to the very great art of Alberto Sordi and Piero Piccioni.
Digitally remastered and restored from the original stereo album master tapes and the complete recording session stereo master tapes with the approval of the Piccioni Estate.

story

Limited in new routines and without a plot to speak of, this series of vignettes focuses primarily on the fares a cab driver (Alberto Sordi) picks up and what is said or done during their ride.
Unfortunately, some of the fares are foreigners ridiculed or insulted in one way or another (Arabs at a dinner party throw mashed potatoes at guests), and some are Italian notables such as Giulio Andreotti or Federico Fellini who have nothing much to add to the film except their presence.
All told, the cab does not provide a very good vehicle for comic relief.

Cast:
Alberto Sordi, Giulio Andreotti, Federico Fellini, Silvana Pampanini, Gianni Baghino, Helen Beaucort, Andrea Belfiore, Enzo Marino Bellanich, Osvaldo Bentivoglio, Ugo Bologna

Director:
Alberto Sordi
