description & story

GDM music releases on CD the OST composed by Ennio Morricone for the TV two-part mini-series Viaggio Nel Terrore: L'Achille Lauro directed in 1990 by Alberto Negrin and starring Burt Lancaster, Eva Marie Saint, Robert Culp, Brian Bloom, Dominique Sanda, Renzo Montagnani, Bernard Fresson, Gabriele Ferzetti.

This TV movie was realized five years later the tragic facts happened aboard the Achille Lauro:
In 1985, while it was still morred in Alexandria's dock, the Italian liner was boarded by a group of Palestinian warriors.
Klingoffer (Lancaster), an old American passenger with Israeli roots, was killed during the disperate attempt, although his illness, to save all the people hold as hostages aboard.

Ennio Morricone did represent musically all the tragic and painful of the plot alternating tension music with epic atmospheres that evoke the sea and with a sweet and heroic theme for flute, piano and orchestra dedicated to the hero Klingoffer.
The CD is enriched with two songs sung by the beautiful voice of Amii Stewart.
For the making of this CD first generation master tapes were used containing all the stereo session that, besides a far superior sound than the previous CD, gave the chance to add about twelve minutes of extra music, all digitally restored and remastered.
